Ramble on,dear.

Ask me anything   Tell me something, babe.   my face. pinterest.
"All circles presuppose they'll end where they began but only in their leaving can they ever come back round; all circles presuppose."
I believe you can never have too many books, tea sets or shoes.

Also, also, I saw several attractive men today. Double plus bonus: two of them were Chinese and brothers and speaking to each other in Mandarin and one of them was wearing a collared shirt and a sweater vest. I am very proud of myself for not running up to them and hugging them and yelling Chinese at them because I didn’t want to insult them or embarrass myself with my limited and mediocre Chinese.

But I just really miss China and I haven’t been there in a year and that’s insane and I’m supposed to be there right now but I’m not.

I miss the rushing, busy streets, full of cars weaving in and out, miraculously without crashing as if they were really all just dancing with each other. China is kind of like one big dance the way the billions of people seamlessly interact with each other constantly. And hearing lilting Mandarin being called from the street vendors, or the business man of his cell phone, or the girls talking to each other and giggling, or the Mother giving a stern talking to to her wriggling child. And the thick, muggy-I cannot even begin to describe the scent-ed air. And the taste of the Dragonfruit you buy for 5 jiao ($0.07) from said street vendor.

But, really, my point is I saw some attractive guys today and it was nice.

I had a really superbly lovely time with my friend. Her family is Chinese and she took me to all Chinese places in her Chinese community.

Jasmine milk-tea and fried sesame balls for the WIN.

I miss China so much it hurts.

Secretly, I just want to be married to a nice Chinese man by last week.

Okay not secretly.

Okay not reeeeeeally.

I don’t want to be married right now at all.

And I just want to marry the right person, regardless.

Did I mention JASMINE MILK TEA AND FRIED SESAME BALLS!?

Look, I just find Chinese men incredibly attractive. And I saw two today. Okay, so they were father and son….. And the father was cuter. Sue me.

*There is nothing wrong with finding Asian, or specifically Chinese men attractive and on I’m not trying to box anyone in or judge people on looks, nor am I promoting an affinity or fetish for a certain ethnicity which marginalizes and fabricates them into to nothing more then some sort of shallow physical interest and not their unique culture or personality. I find people of all ethnicities attractive based on them individually and not just  their race, however, I’m just saying that as a general rule I find Asian features more attractive. Mostly and mainly Chinese though Korean would be a close second. I also really appreciate African features and coloring. I just find people beautiful and interesting and I love facial architecture. And now I’m rambling. But that’s my disclaimer. So, there you go.

Chinese Children are Cute!

Ummmm, can I PLEASE have my Chinese students back? It literally feels like someone took my children away.

P.S I recognize the heart emblem sewn on this gentlemen’s pants. It makes my heart sad. I may or may not have bought boy pants in China? What? They’re yellow with silver pockets!

China update 7/12/11

My Chinese students students are so amazing. I love just talking and spending time with them. We’ve had a lot of good conversations about life and beliefs. I taught them the song Amazing Grace and they love and sing it all the time. They say that they thing the meaning is so beautiful and that is makes them feel very happy and loved when they hear it.

A couple days ago I got to spend the whole day with my students and we drove two hours out of town and into the countryside to where one of my girls, Sophie lives when she isn’t at school. I was used to the way people in the villages live becauwse of last year but it was still very humbling to be sitting in this, by American standards, a shack, and eating and laughing and having a great time with my students.

I don’t think it matters how long much time I spend in China I will NEVER get used to the stares. I learn to ignore them or even appreciate them but it’s just strange. Mostly, it just reminds me of my love for the Chinese people and how much I would like to reach every individual there.
